Husky Loops - I Can't Even Speak English (Album Review)

husky loops i cant even speak english album cover

Husky Loops have finally released their debut album, I've been waiting for it ever since it's announcement and I'm sure many other fans of their eclectic music have as well. Husky Loops' music is such an imaginative and heterogeneous blend of hip-hop beats tinged with obscure samples to produce wonderful music.

The album itself is stacked wall to wall with bangers. The album is interspersed with skits of their friends and associates bigging them up - which could be seen as a little over-zealous on your debut but the bragadocious nature of it just works so well for Husky Loops. The first actual song on the album is "Good As Gold" which displays the pure creativeness of the trio right off the bat.

Husky Loops are going on tour this October.

The singles that led up to the album could only whet my appetite for the sheer diversity of noise on offer within this record. "I Think You're Wonderful" is closer to pop than anything, but has that sense of loveliness and artfulness that is completely amiss on the charts. The main issue with I Can't Even Speak English, however, lies later on in the album within the track "F*ck me naturally" which is just an absolute cringe-fest, with the band attempting to build a saucy joint but it just falls flat.
