Airways
Airways are a band who seem to have snuck out of nowhere and are now touring the country with The Hunna. The Peterborough natives were formed purely by a chance encounter in America and I discovered the same way, trawling through Spotify and finding a band that I liked the look of. Their music resonates with a lot of people because it's as infectious as it is innovative and that's always a great mixture!
For fans of Circa Waves and The Hunna.
Of courses I have to support the Leicester natives, but I'm not going to blindly follow a band - these guys are incredibly decent and their recent tune "Delectable" is a proper rock n roll stomper of an anthem. The band have an incredible knack for producing loud, raucous and boisterous tunes that will just stick with you for the whole day.
For fans of Kasabian, Oasis, The Jam.
NAMES are a young Welsh band who have taken on the sombre sounds of bands like The Smiths and evolved it and made it their own. Throwing in your uniqueness to a sound can either entice or alienate and NAMES have definitely done the former. Whilst they don't currently have a large amount of music to listen to immediately, but what you do find are some very polished and memorable tunes.

Manchester bred The Covasettes are an immensely talented indie rock band who have taken the genre, evolved it and perfected it. With each single release I realise that they know what they're doing and they've discovered the secret formula to indie stardom. As you can see, I'm very impressed by the band and their songwriting talents.

Singer-Songwriter Bryony Williams is as talented as she is driven. Whilst starting a movement on the side she's begun to carve out a career for herself that has included releasing her stellar EP 'Conscious'. Combining her sombre chords with an uplifting vocal performance is where Bryony really comes into her own and it's exciting to think of the bright future she has ahead of her.

Fred is a good friend of the blog, but that has blossomed from his fantastic music. An artist without inhibitions or tethers to a genre can be something that is wonderful. And Fred is just that, however his folk like music is intertwined with signs of electro and pop. It's a beautiful mixture of sounds and it culminates in music that is so personal and yet relateable at the same time!
For fans of David Bowie, Justin Timberlake, Grimes (This is such a weird mixture of people but Fred Seul's music is just that eclectic)
The Values are a two piece from NYC whose enigmatic and inspiring music resinates due to their music coming from their real life relationship. Their mixture of great lyrical content with infectiously, head bopping tunes means that they are one of the most exciting synth-pop bands to rise since the 80's. A genre that is one of my favourites.

Oddity Road
Oddity Road are a band that are rising at an incredible rate, with only a few official releases to their name it could be hard to understand how they've gained a large fanbase already. However, once you listen to those singles you'll soon realise that they deserve all of it because they're an incredibly talented group of lads with a unique and wonderful singer to match. They're about to embark on tour and I reccomend you hop along and witness all of their indie goodness in the flesh!

Anoa
Anoa are a local band for me, hailing from Leicester it's of course important to support local bands. But like I said before I won't blindly support a band if they're rubbish. Anoa are a punk four piece with an acid tongue, songs that should incite roars from crowds. In a world where punk is on the rise, you need to stand out and Anoa are doing just that. So if you're in Leicester get down to The Cookie and check out these guys!

Stella Donnelly
Stella's music captivates me with every listen. Her bare bones acoustic anthem "Mechanical Bull" off her Thrush Metal EP is full to the brim with witty lyrics and impressive structure. What's also so impressive is how she tackles issues head on, especially with her track "Boys Will Be Boys" which is the feminist tune to counter a culture that undermines rape victims with terrible opinions like boys will be boys. She's quite possibly a future icon!
